Kenneth G. Kormeier, 65, of Columbia passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elks Lodge, 4747 Elk Park Drive in Columbia.
Kenneth G. Kormeier was born Oct. 10, 1949 in Washington, Mo., the son of Homer and Alice Hagg Kormeier.
He married Geraldine M. "Jerri" Printy Sept. 6, 1970, in Honolulu, and she preceded him in death Feb. 11, 2004. Mr. Kormeier enjoyed traveling, golf and being in the company of family and friends.
He was a decorated Vietnam veteran, a member of Elks, VFW, American Legion, Eagles, Masons and Tiger Shriners and Moolah Shriners.
He was also a local entrepreneur and a very generous man. He will be missed by many.
Survivors include his daughter, Kristin Sneed (husband Sebastian) of Columbia; his son, Kevin Kormeier (wife Tammy) of Columbia; his significant other, Linda Habelitz; five grandchildren, Kyle, Addison, Elliott, and Isaac Kormeier and Alexander Sneed; one brother, Robert; and three sisters, Maryann, Carol, and Delores.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jerri.
